Goodbye Imposter Syndrome. Hello Confidence.

Are you stifling your unique potential? Do you feel uncertain of yourself, like an imposter or fraud - even when others say otherwise? These fears can keep you stuck in your own personal status quo, while in reality, you have extraordinary strengths and gifts. The time for cultivating overconfidence is here. So, how do you begin to trust yourself and let go of concerns about "not being enough?” Through self awareness, you can begin to break down the walls that are holding you back from truly embracing who you are meant to be.

Embrace the power of Self-Belief: What does it mean to truly believe in yourself? You have all the potential within you to achieve any goal you set your mind to. Fear and uncertainty can hold us back from reaching new heights. So, start by recognizing your strengths, as they can be a guide to transforming your setbacks into stepping stones. With each step, you create more and more evidence to believe in your abilities. 

**Tip: If you find this hard to do on your own, ask your friends, family or colleagues what strengths they see in You and go from there!

Speak Up for Yourself: Being overconfident means not only believing in yourself but also speaking up for yourself. Don’t be afraid to share your opinions or stand up for what you believe in, even when it goes against the grain of popular opinion or the culture at large. This will reinforce to yourself that you are confident enough to stand up for what is right and true regardless of what others think or say about it.

Surround Yourself with Positive People Having a group of people who are on your side reminds you to have your own back as well. Positive people can encourage and support you on your journey towards becoming more yourself. These people should be able to provide constructive criticism when needed, while still supporting you unconditionally throughout the process of developing greater self-confidence.

Take Action: When you feel stuck, when you feel that not enough-ness creeping back in, taking one small action can move you more towards yourself. Thomas Edison once said: “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.”

**Tip: When you feel stuck or you’re encountering negative thoughts, question their validity by asking yourself if there is evidence to support them. 

And then…Take Risks: Taking risks can be intimidating, but it's an essential part of growth and development. Once you start consistently taking action, don't be afraid to try something new or take a chance on something with an unknown outcome. You never know what opportunities might come your way if you're willing to take a risk.

Visualize Success: Visualizing success can shift you toward overconfidence by giving you the motivation to keep going even when things get tough. Think about how great it will feel when you achieve your goals and use that feeling as fuel for success. Who is the person that achieves these great successes? Each day when you see yourself as this confident person, you take action from this place of inner knowing and belief.

Celebrate Your Accomplishments: Take pride in all of your accomplishments, no matter how big or small they may be. Celebrating each success, will help boost your self-confidence because it shifts your attention towards gratitude for all that you’ve done. This is a great way to boost self-confidence and stay motivated to reach bigger goals in the future.

When we continue to choose who we want to be each day, we make choices from that place of inner connection. We can choose to see ourselves as an imposter OR we can choose to see ourselves as someone with important and vital gifts to share with the world. From this feeling of connection to ourselves, we can tap into a source of creativity and vitality that will strengthen our inner confidence.
